| To make a bird call, you must first watch the bird in its natural habitat, understand its sounds when it is plaintive and agressive.
At the time of mating, you must listen carefully to the bird sounds to understand if the female attracts the male or the opposite, in order to memorise (and not record with a tape recorder) the sounds of the animal or the bird which attracts the other one.
Once you have memorised the specific sound, you can, then, think of the shape that will be best fitted to reproduce this sound.
Next, comes the phase of designing the necessary set of tools (the tools which will enable you to make the bird call).
The tool making process is a long one; it can take many years before the “Raymond house ability certificate” is released (this also explains why they are number one!)
When the tools are ready, after they have been tested several times and validated, then comes the manufacturing phase. The Raymond bird calls are hand made. They are tested several times during the making process. Then, each bird call is tested manually before it is sold.
